I will be exhibiting with talented jewellers at this venue:
St Peter’s Church. Cambridge Right next to Kettles Yard
Our Story
It started with my attending jewellery classes run by Teresa Crickmar and then we had our first exhibition in my conservatory.
No grand pedestals. No gallery lights. Just a focused handful of us laying out silver and stones in a beautiful safe space. That first show was tight, beautifully executed, and entirely vital. It was the exact moment we stepped out from behind the safety of the bench and gave our work its very first stage.
Since then, The Makers Collective has evolved into a powerhouse of independent designer-makers. Beyond mastering the craft of cutting, soldering, and stone-setting, we have collectively learned what it takes to run a serious creative enterprise. We tackled the unglamorous side together by decoding product photography lighting, wrangling design software, navigating fair pricing, and curating spaces where distinct aesthetics elevate one another. Every exhibition has been a masterclass in professional grit.
For the past few years, St Peter’s Church has been our proving ground. Inside those thick stone walls right next door to a local gallery team that constantly backs us, we have built a formidable presence. People do not just wander in anymore because they actively come looking for us. They know the faces behind the benches and return specifically to see how the work has shifted and grown.
Today, The Makers Collective stands as a mark of high-end contemporary jewellery and silversmithing. Every piece is rooted in patience, technical integrity, and uncompromising originality. You will find no mass production and no soulless perfection here. This is distinctive, resilient work made by professional designer makers.
Come step into our space, meet the makers, and see the craft for yourself.
